Supremacy updates its amateur ranking system

Increased promotion of semi-professional fights

With the purpose of promoting more “semi-pro” action in the Supremacy Amateur League the Supremacy HQ has decided to modify its amateur scoring system. Previously C-class fighters (full contact with head gear and shin guards) has been granted 3 points for victorious outcomes with a “merit point” for the non-victorious opponent – a so called 3-1 split. Simultaneously B-class fighters (amateur full contact with no protection) has been given the same score for a victory even though the level of the fighting is supposedly higher and more advanced in B-class which is “semi-pro”.

Adaptive scoring

“We’ve been asking around for the fairness of the scoring system, and most objections has regarded that C-class fights and B-class fights has been given the same score. We have taken this to us and we have now updated the system to reflect the level of accomplishment between the two performances.”, says Supremacy CEO Hakan Ozan. As of Supremacy Amateur League V on May 3, C-class winners will be awarded 2 points (a 2-1 split) while B-class winners will be given 3 points (a 3-1 split). A fight that ends with a draw will always give the contenders one point each (a 1-1 split). (Read more about the scoring system here.)

This is part of the strategy to help fighters make smoother transitions from the amateur league to the pro league. By moving up the hills from C-class to the semi-pro division, fighters will get better opportunities to showcase themselves and their worth for the pro shows.

D-class moves to undercard position

Along with the increased focus on B-class, slight adjustments for D-class fights has also been made. Formerly D-class fights have been part of the ordinary fight card and included in the streams and video sections. (Yet non-full contact fights have never been given any ranking points.) Effective now, D-class fights will be part of the undercard and not included in the official main card. The main card will always be reserved for full contact fights. Hence D-class will still be fully allowed at amateur league events, but not showcased with the same effort as the main card fights.

Note: No retroactive deductions will be made, meaning that whatever points have been scored until today’s date will remain.
